Velvet Contrast Sleeve Ruched High-Slit Maxi Dress

I ordered this for a wedding in October and got so many compliments. The velvet has a nice weight to it, doesn't feel thin or cheap, and the contrast sleeves make it look way more expensive than it was. I'm 5'6" and wore it with heels, the slit hit around mid-thigh which felt sexy but not too much for a family event. The ruching hides my stomach area which I appreciated. Shipping took about a week, came folded in a bag slightly wrinkled but steamed out fine. Only thing is the bust ran a little tight, I'd size up if you're bigger chested.

This dress is gorgeous in person, the velvet and sleeve contrast look much pricier than what I paid. I wore it to a holiday party and felt great all night. My issue was sizing, I'm between a medium and large and went with the large, still a bit tight across the shoulders. The ruching is forgiving everywhere else though, which saved it. Length worked at 5'8" with flats. Shipping was fast, three days. Fabric does attract lint a bit, keep a roller handy. Solid four stars, would buy again in another color.

The fabric feels decent for the price, not super luxurious velvet but definitely not that scratchy costume stuff. Color matched the photos pretty closely. I'm 5'2" so the maxi was basically floor length on me and I had to get it hemmed, which added cost I wasn't planning on. The contrast sleeves are the best part, they really stand out in pictures. Wore it to a birthday dinner and it worked fine. Took two weeks to arrive, longer than I expected. Would still recommend if you're taller than me.

The velvet looks rich under lights, I got asked twice where it was from. Fit was true to size for me (size 8, 5'7"), snug through the waist but stretchy enough to dance in. The ruched middle is flattering without being fussy. Zipper is a little stiff at first but loosens up. Arrived in five days, packaged fine, just needed a quick steam.
