Elegant Off Shoulder Ruched Maxi Dress

I was nervous ordering a dress online, but this one surprised me. The ruching hides my stomach, and the off-shoulder top stays put without constant tugging. Fabric is thicker than I expected, not see-through, and it has a nice stretch. I wore it to a rehearsal dinner and got compliments all night. I’m 5’4” and ordered a small; it hit just above my ankles with wedges. Shipping took about a week. Only wish the sleeves were slightly tighter, but still a solid buy.

I’m not a dress person, but this one converted me. The fabric is soft with enough stretch that I could eat dinner and still feel comfortable. The off-shoulder part stayed in place while I was dancing, which never happens for me. I got the navy in a large, and it hugged my curves without squeezing. I wore it to a cocktail wedding and felt dressed up but not stiff. One tiny thing: the zipper is a little stiff at first, but it loosened up. Overall, I’d order another color.

I bought the black one for a formal birthday dinner and it looked way more expensive than it was. The off-shoulder neckline is flattering, and the ruched side gives a nice shape without being tight. I’m usually a medium and that’s what I ordered—fit was spot on, maybe a touch long, but heels fixed that. The material has a slight sheen in photos but looks matte in person. I danced and sat through dinner; no weird wrinkles. Received it faster than expected too.

This dress is pretty and well made for the price. The off-shoulder band didn’t dig in, and the ruching is actually sewn well, not just cheap gathering. I wore it to a beach engagement party and it was comfortable in the heat. My only complaint is the length—I’m 5’2” and even with platform sandals it grazed the floor. I’ll need to hem it. Shipping was quick, arrived in four days. Color is true to the photos, maybe a little darker in person. Would still recommend for taller girls.
